MULCH In 2009, Joplin Waste Paper began recycling its waste pallets to produce and color mulch, available in ruby red, coffee brown, black, and natural. Our colored mulch is made by adding an environmentally safe dye to ground up tree limbs and wood pallets that have been magnetically cleaned of all metal nails or banding. In fact, it’s one of the ways our pallet recycling program helps to find other uses for damaged wood pallets that could otherwise end up in a landfill. |

HOW MUCH WILL I NEED? To determine how much mulch you may need, evaluate the dimensions of the space you wish to cover—including the desired depth. By multiplying these figures together you can see how many bags you will need. (Note that each bag contains two cubic feet of mulch.) Example: Say I have a 5' x 10' space I need to cover and I want it to be 2" deep. Note that all measurements need to be in feet. So, in this example, take 2 / 12 to make the necessary unit conversion. 5' x 10' x 0.17' = 8.33 cubic feet. So, in my case, I would need five bags. For larger quanities and semi loads we measure by cubic yards. To determine this, simply divide the product by 27. For example: 13.5 cubic feet becomes 0.5 cubic yards. |
